Why Are Americans Taking Supplements?

We’ve come a long way in our view of taking supplements. What used to be considered a practice that veered from the beaten path—not at all mainstream—is being embraced by more and more of you. More than half of all Americans are now taking supplements.

Reserveage™ Nutrition has taken the guesswork out of choosing supplements, which makes it easier to focus on supporting your health.

Today’s Supplement Users Seem to be taking them proactively to support wellness.

A new study confirms that general health and wellness are the top reasons why consumers are taking supplements. National Institutes of Health data reports that dietary supplement users understand that taking vitamins and supplements are an investment in your daily health. Your goal is ‘ promoting’ and ‘maintaining’ your overall good health.*

And according to a paper published in JAMA Internal Medicine, supplement users are enjoying the benefit of lower BMI (Body Mass Index), are drinking fewer alcoholic beverages, exercising more, and are more likely not to smoke than people who don’t take supplements.

“This study is very encouraging and confirms the shift that has taken place among vitamin and supplement users,” says Rob Maru, Chief Innovation Officer at Reserveage Nutrition.

The study also concludes that taking dietary supplements builds confidence in your health. Before starting any supplements:

•Please consult with your healthcare practitioner before taking any supplements especially if you are pregnant, nursing, on medication or under a doctor’s care. If taking supplements is important to you, choose a nutritionally oriented healthcare practitioner who can help educate you about its ingredients.

•Read labels carefully.
