3 Simple “Cheats” to Solve All Your Hairstyle Headaches

I have to admit…I always love how my hair feels after a professional deep conditioning treatment, I can’t help but wonder: Couldn’t I be doing this myself for a lot less?

Well, it turns out you can, and it’s so simple you won’t believe it!

I discovered these three luxury hair masks you can make in your own kitchen for a fraction of what the salon charges. They work wonders on your hair, and there’s one for you no matter what issues are plaguing your luscious locks.

OILY HAIR- Oily hair can be a serious nuisance, but it isn’t something you have to just accept. Excessive oil production is completely natural and happens to a lot of us. All it means is the roots of your hair are producing excess sebum (the oily substance created to prevent your hair from becoming dry and brittle.) Luckily, this egg and lemon mask is perfect for absorbing those extra oils, without drying out your hair.

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 lemon

  • Beat egg white until foamy
  • Add salt and juice from a whole lemon
  • Mix well and apply to scalp
  • Let sit for 30 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water (when using a mask with egg, make sure to never rinse with hot water or the egg will thicken IN your hair)

DRY OR FRIZZY HAIR- Years of heat-styling and coloring can leave your hair incredibly dry, which leads to frizz and those dreaded fly-aways. But this miracle mask contains all the nourishing ingredients you need to add moisture back to those brittle strands – and tame the loose ones!

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Mash together all of the ingredients until well blended
  • Apply to damp, towel-dried hair and cover with a shower cap
  • Let sit for 20-30 minutes and rinse with cool water (Quick tip: Place a paper towel or drain catcher over the drain to catch the chunks.)

LIFELESS OR DULL HAIR- Repeated use of hair products and and styling tools leave our hair flat and lifeless. We all want that voluminous, shampoo advertisement, slow-motion flipping hair. And now you can have it! Just use this mask every two weeks and you’ll notice the major transformation in your hair in no-time – Get ready for lively locks!
